As a member of the IUCN snake and lizard Red List authority I assessed the conservation status of the endemic reptiles of the Comoros. These assessments are the basis for any ongoing and future conservation actions.

With the help of students, local experts, and NGOs I conduct surveys and provide reports for the delimitation of ZNIEFF (fauna and flora monitoring) zones in Mayotte, a French overseas department.

I started conducting zoological surveys for regional impact assessment and planning in Germany as a student. Now, with more than ten years of experience, I am interested in comparing the methods of applying EU conservation law in different member countries
